An orphaned baby elephant is crying on the street after losing his mother

In a deeply moving incident in India, a five-month-old wild elephant calf was discovered wandering alone in a coffee plantation near Chinnakanal, Munnar, Kerala.

The calf’s distress as it cried and cautiously moved through the unfamiliar surroundings highlighted the vulnerability of young wildlife in such situations.

Residents, touched by the calf’s plight, quickly informed forest officials. After evaluating the situation, it was found that a herd of six elephants, including two other calves, was about a kilometer away. This discovery brought hope for a possible reunion for the orphaned calf.
