At Elephant Nature Park in Thailand, a lively baby elephant named LekLek is winning hearts with her playful nature and boundless energy. Her remarkable journey from captivity to freedom illustrates a story of resilience, mirrored in her spirited escapades throughout the park.

A dedicated rescue effort, involving organizations like Stews 4 Elephants (S4E Global) and Future for Elephants, enabled LekLek and her mother, Moh Loh, to escape a grim future in a circus camp. The pair made a grueling 12-hour journey to reach the sanctuary where they would find safety and joy.

Moh Loh, once a logging elephant, and her baby LekLek owe their rescue to compassionate individuals, including Gertrude Andraschko, Robyn Beasley, Dr. Dawn Miller, and Miss Linee Keswani, all united by Saengduean Lek Chailert’s passion for elephant rescue.

After undergoing a necessary quarantine period, LekLek and her mother were welcomed into their lush new home at ENP, where they could finally enjoy the beauty of nature, free from their past hardships.

Now flourishing in her new habitat, LekLek is a curious little dynamo, eager to explore and claim her surroundings. She loves racing around her enclosure, showcasing a delightful personality that includes some playful territorial behavior towards new arrivals.

The contrasting energies of LekLek and her mother, Moh Loh, provide a heartwarming view into their healing journeys. While LekLek exuberantly runs about, Moh Loh remains calm, guiding her with gentle rumbles, embodying the park’s commitment to nurturing these magnificent creatures.

Witnessing LekLek grow stronger and more confident each day fills the staff at ENP with joy. Her playful antics reflect the importance of animal rescue initiatives, illustrating how love and care can transform lives.
