Crocodiles usually reproduce by laying eggs . The reproductive cycle of this animal lasts for a whole year. The mating time is from October of the previous year to the end of March of the following year. Thus, the breeding period of crocodiles is from April to the end of October every year. And each crocodile has the ability to give birth to 1 litter within 1 year. Crocodiles will begin their first reproductive cycle at the age of 9-15 years.

Once spawned, crocodiles can lay 20 to 40 eggs . Normally, crocodile eggs are very large and have a hard outer shell. After laying, the mother crocodile will lie in the nest to incubate and protect the eggs. After about 2 months, the eggs will gradually hatch.
