To Nu jackfruit tree with more than 300 fruits “wrapped” around the trunk (CTV photo)
The jackfruit tree above belongs to the jackfruit variety, grown by Mr. Nguyen Van Thao’s family on sandy loam soil. The jackfruit tree is about 4m tall, with a trunk diameter of more than 20cm. It was purchased and planted from the Southern To Nu jackfruit variety at the Agricultural Fair 6 years ago.
Mr. Thao said: After 6 years of age, this is the third year the jackfruit tree has produced fruit. In previous seasons there were only a few dozen fruits, but suddenly this season there were so many fruits.
Hearing the news, many people from near and far came to Mr. Thao’s house to see with their own eyes this jackfruit tree that produced more than 300 fruits at a time. Many people also ask to take cuttings and plant them, because this type of jackfruit has a very sweet and fragrant taste.
